Iain was recently interviewed by Georgina Godwin on Meet the writers on Monocle Radio.
Georgina drives Iain through his entire career as a London icon, as an unconvinced psychogeographer, focusing in particular on one of Iain’s most recent works: “Pariah Genius“.
It’s an extremely engaging interview that I highly recommend, with some really interesting questions. The one that has stuck with me is a question about what motivates Iain and keeps him going, whether it is a “deep loyalty to London’s […] soul?”.
This is a very interesting question to me, as I am someone who loved the idea of London for a long time since youth, dreamed of living there, and then when got there only lasted about 12 years before leaving totally fed up.
From the Monocle website:
“Georgina Godwin is joined by the chronicler of London’s psychogeographies, Iain Sinclair. His latest novel, ‘Pariah Genius’, traces the footsteps of photographer John Deakin.”
