Iain Sinclair’s American Smoke LRB Limited Edition

A limited first edition of American Smoke, in association with Hamish Hamilton, numbered and signed by the author, comprising 55 copies only. Fifty (plus five hors serie) have been quarter bound in black Dubletta cloth and Carta da Zucchero paper sides and are housed in a blue suedel-lined slipcase, numbered 1 to 50. Each copy comes with a photographic postcard taken by the author during his West Coast research trip from Vancouver to Los Angeles, with handwritten text to verso, and a poster designed by Nathan Burton. Five copies, numbered i to v, (plus two hors serie) have been quarter bound in Harmatan black leather and Dubletta cloth sides, and are contained in a blue Solander box with a photograph of William Burroughs taken by the author in Lawrence, Kansas, plate-sunk to the front of the box. Each copy contains three holographic postcards, the poster, Austerlitz (a deleted chapter from American Smoke, bound in card wraps), the dvd of an interview by Kevin Ring with the author entitled Journeys to the End of the Light and one page of the author’s corrected typescript. Both editions have coloured tops and letterpress labels to front of book. You may order as many copies as you wish but any multiple orders will be reviewed on 7 November and, if necessary, scaled down accordingly. Please indicate whether, if your preferred edition is unavailable, you would like to receive the other edition. Please note that books will not be reserved without prepayment. No books will be dispatched before publication date, 7 November.
