On 2th May a special event for the launch of writer and essay film-maker Chris Petit’s album Museum of Loneliness, thanks to Test Centre.
Released on vinyl only, the LP is made up of specially-recorded readings from Petit’s novels Robinson (1993), The Hard Shoulder (2001) and The Passenger (2006), and from his recent project The Museum of Loneliness. Backed by soundtracks from his films Asylum (with Iain Sinclair, 2000) and Content (2010), along with street recordings made by Petit in Johannesburg and other field recordings, Museum of Loneliness is at once a unique retrospective and a new standalone work.
The event will celebrate accordingly, with a rare screening of Asylum, appearances from Petit and Iain Sinclair, and playback of the album.
The event starts at 7pm, and the cafe will be open for drinks afterwards. We’ll be selling copies of our LPs and magazines, including Test Centre Three hot off the press.
