Acclaimed author of Downriver (winner of the James Tait Black Memorial Prize and the Encore Award), Iain Sinclair will be talking about his latest book Ghost Milk: Calling Time on the Grand Project.
In the book the author sets out from the East London Olympic site – a ruin in the making – on the trail of other recent Grand Projects. From the Athens Olympic zone, empty of life but for packs of feral dogs, to the abandoned monuments of Britain’s Millenium moment, Sinclair crosses territory and time like no other literary traveller, reporting back on the trouble to come.
This talk is in support of Book Aid International and part of the World Book Night celebrations at Canada Water library.
