I did an interview yesterday for a magazine called ‘Vice’. I believe they also put out documentaries. The HQ is in New York. The issue is on ‘Catastrophes’.

There is a read through today (invitation only) of ‘The Man Who Became A Room’, a play by Sonja Linden, based on ‘Rodinsky’s Room’. At the Soho Theatre.

Off to Austin, Texas, on Tuesday.

Wed April 7. I take part in ‘Poetry on the Plaza’, in front of the Harry Ransom Center. 12: midday.

The evening will be a chance to view the show, and in particular items of interest from the Society’s archives, specifically selected by Iain Sinclair. The Swedenborg Society is pleased to welcome back Iain who spoke on ‘Blake’s London’ at Swedenborg Hall, as part of our conference on Blake in Contexts in 2006.

Explore the career of Nicholas Hawksmoor, one of the great architects of the English Baroque. His monumental and mysterious churches have become celebrated landmarks in the City and West End of London. This day begins with an exploration of his career in the V&A’s display. Europe and the English Baroque: Architecture in England 1660-1715, led by Charles Hind, head of RIBA. It continues with a tour of Christ Church and Spitalfields and a discussion of the imaginary elements associated with Hawksmoor’s work by Iain Sinclair, author of Lud’s Gate and Downriver.
