There was a piece, by Alan Franks, entitled ‘Wild Things (Nature writing: it’s the new rock ‘n’ roll)’, in the Times on Saturday (June 19). It includes a brief account of a walk I took with Richard Mabey, down the canal to the Olympic Park. (I have done an introduction for the reissue of his book ‘The Unofficial Countryside’.)
