“This discussion follows a performance of the multimedia event The Quiet Man and brings together Foxx and acclaimed author Sinclair, to explore its conceptual issues. No other contemporary British writer has made the city the central subject of their work more than Sinclair. Considered the godfather of modern psychogeographers, his most notable work isLondon Orbital: A Walk Around The M25. Sinclair and Foxx share a fascination with the city, and the powerful effect places can have on our perceptions of ourselves. They’ll discuss Foxx’s notion that our accumulated experiences and memories evolve over time into a personal map, giving meaning to life in an alien city.”
